Salt changes the flavor of everything it touches, and light drives back the darkness wherever it shines. Charlie Kirk reminds us: if your faith isn’t changing what’s around you, it might not be shining bright enough.

“Christ wants us to be around people who aren’t like us. This is why I go to college campuses. One of my life’s callings is to go to the darkest places humanity has, college campuses, and to fight for righteousness and goodness, and I’ll prove it to you by what Christ told us. What Jesus told us is to be salt and light. Now, we hear that, but we don’t think deeply about what it means. What do salt and light have in common? They change the environment that they come in contact with. Light brightens up a dark place and salt will make something saltier. They do not affirm, they do not conform, they change for the better. That’s very important. We, as Christians, are called to change the environment we come in contact with.”
