One day bleeds into the next, rest is postponed, and before we know it, our souls are weary. Yet the Bible gently reminds us that rest was never meant to be optional—it is part of God’s loving design for our lives.

Wherever He leads, He promises to whisper direction, “This is the way—walk in it.” And when storms come, we don’t face them alone. His presence goes with us into every unknown.

While preparing this issue of the Wine Press, we were deeply saddened by the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk. Regardless of one’s views about his politics, Charlie Kirk was a faithful witness who spoke passionately about his faith and became a strong voice to people, especially young people, in the United States and around the world—reminding us all that Jesus is the answer. When asked how he wanted to be remembered, Charlie said it was for his courage and his faith.
In this issue, we not only want to remember Charlie Kirk, but also examine our own hearts. Are we living as lights in the growing darkness of this world? Even a small candle can shine brilliantly when the night is at its darkest!

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. (Isaiah 60:1-2, KJV)

The world is loud. Everyone’s got an opinion, a cause, a trend to chase. And if we’re not careful, we end up running on empty—trying to keep up, but never really satisfied. Jesus cuts through all that noise with one simple invitation: “Abide in Me.” Stay connected. Stay rooted.

That’s the focus of this month’s issue—what it really means to live in the world but not of it. When we abide in Him, something powerful happens. We’re still in the world—we still have jobs, families, responsibilities—but we’re not owned by it. We don’t have to bow to its pressure or measure ourselves by its standards. Instead, His life flows into ours, filling us with strength when we’re weak, joy when things don’t make sense, and peace that’s unshakable!
